Tasha Mulligan is an athletic trainer and physical therapist with 27 years of experience working with clients of all ages and fitness levels. Her passion for understanding the human body has carried her from the collegiate training room, to outpatient orthopedic rehabilitation, to women’s health rehabilitation and wellness programs. Her experience within all of these settings has shaped her exercise instruction to include not only body mechanics and muscle strengthening but also to understand how we can maximize oxygenation and blood flow to our deepest core to allow our bodies to carry us throughout a lifetime.

Throughout her life, Tasha has been surrounded by athletics and training the body for peak performance. She is a former University of Iowa student-athlete and trained for years as a marathoner and a triathlete. Her continued study of the body as well as what it takes to remain healthy and injury free followed her into motherhood. She transitioned from being the competitor to being the coach, trainer, and physical therapist for each of her three children throughout their elementary and high school years. Through these roles, she has taught ACL prevention classes, dynamic stretching classes, and has provided injury rehabilitation for many athletes. Tasha’s passion, whether she is working prevention or rehabilitation is teaching effective recruitment of specific core muscles to help people connect to and feel the strength and the power of their bodies.

“Being part of a team has always been where I feel most alive. From my days on the Iowa Softball team to raising our family of five, I’ve always found purpose in working together toward something bigger. Now, with my kids grown and a new chapter ahead, Water Bearer feels like my next great team, people coming together to strengthen not just their bodies, but their foundations. As a physical therapist, I’ve always believed that posture and core strength are metaphors for how we move through life: when we’re aligned, supported, and grounded, everything flows more freely. Every time we gather to plan and bring this vision to life, I leave feeling energized, inspired, and fired up for what’s next. That’s what Water Bearer represents to me, a place of alignment, empowerment, and shared strength.” – Tasha Mulligan 2025

In addition to her strong orthopedic background, in 2006 Tasha added a focus on women’s health. Combining years of experience focused on biomechanics and her new passion for women’s health, Tasha created the Hab-It: Pelvic Floor program in 2009. Through this program she was able to reach an international audience and provide educational resources for women of all ages. Although her initial focus was creating a recovery program for moms post delivery, it was soon apparent that there was a need to educate women on their pelvic floor and deepest core muscles throughout their lifetime. Using the Hab-It platform, Tasha has worked both online and in person to teach teenagers, new moms, and grandmothers how to connect to and activate their deepest core muscles allowing them to remain active and healthy for years to come.

It is this desire to teach patients how to develop a healthy connection to their bodies that Tasha brings with her to Water Bearer. Her women’s health studies highlight how women’s bodies are continually changing through puberty, pregnancy, post-partum, peri-menopause, and post menopause. Tasha’s goal in being a part of the Water Bearer team is to share that no matter what phase of life you are in, everyone can draw from their deepest core muscles and find the power and strength of their bodies.
