Sasha Boros is a lifelong leader, educator, and community-builder whose career bridges athletics, law, and wellness. A former University of Iowa student-athlete and assistant coach, she returned to Iowa City in 2016 as Head Women’s Tennis Coach and has since guided the Hawkeyes to record-breaking seasons, academic excellence, and the program’s first NCAA Tournament appearance in 15 years. She is now the second- winningest coach in program history, with over 100 career victories.

But Sasha’s impact extends well beyond the tennis court. She holds a Juris Doctorate from the University of Iowa College of Law and a Bachelor’s in Political Science and Journalism, and she has taught courses in sports law and positive coaching. She has served on national and conference leadership committees, directed major collegiate tournaments, and co-chaired community campaigns with United Way. Her work has been recognized with the Big Ten Network’s Community Game Changer Award and the Iowa City Downtown Women of Impact Award for service and mentorship.

“Water Bearer has been a dream in my heart since 2020, born in a time of quiet reflection and a deep desire to create spaces for healing, connection, and renewal. I shared this vision with my dear friends who not only believed in it, but breathed life into it. Their faith and energy lifted my spirit and helped turn an idea into a living, breathing reality. Water Bearer is rooted in empowerment, connection, and compassion, values that feel more essential now than ever. In a world that often feels stretched thin, it reminds us that when we dare to dream, and when others join us in that dream, the dream truly comes to life.”Sasha Boros 2025

A gifted storyteller and connector, Sasha created and hosted the HERkys podcast and Hawkeye Women Rise, producing more than 80 episodes that amplified the stories of women leaders and athletes. She also played a central role in celebrating the 50th anniversary of Title IX and Iowa Women’s Athletics, honoring the legacy of her mentor, Dr. Christine Grant.

Sasha’s vision for Water Bearer grows out of this same passion: building spaces where people can grow, connect, and lead with purpose. Drawing on her 20+ years of experience mentoring students, coaching high-performing teams, managing programs, and engaging the community, she brings a deep commitment to wellness in all its dimensions — physical, emotional, intellectual, and social.

At her core, Sasha believes in resilience, equity, and the transformative power of community. Whether coaching a team, teaching a class, leading a campaign, or welcoming someone into Water Bearer, she is dedicated to creating environments where people feel seen, supported, and inspired to thrive.
